Portable X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) is a method of positive material identification (PMI) which is a non-destructive semi-quantitative method that determines the chemical composition of a material.
XRF is ideally suited for very fast qualitative elemental analysis. Typically all elements from sodium through to uranium can be detected simultaneously.
